This is the second track off "Demanufacture" and it was my favorite for
a long time. It sounds a lot like the title track off that album,
really aggressive and hardcore, with a lot of abrasive staccato riffing
going on.
When you play this song, try to vary the strength of the palm-muting.
When I play this song, I do not use very much palm-muting (in fact,
sometimes I use none at all, although there is some going on there) but
I could see why somebody would want to use a lot of palm muting for a
song like this.
Riff C, which is the verse and general theme of the song, has a tricky
rhythm that's hard to hear and perfect. Keep trying and don't get
discouraged. Use trill picking on this riff and most of the other ones
in the song.
Hitting the G5 chord in Riff K can also be kind of tricky. If you play
the first part of that riff by putting your middle finger on the second
fret and your index finger on the first fret, it's going to be hard to
get to that chord. Instead of trying to hit it with your index and ring
fingers, try playing that chord with your middle and pinky fingers. If
you use the latter set of fingers, it takes less time to reach the chord
and so you can play it faster. Good luck (this song is on the harder
side, in my opinion)!
